This is still one of my favorite songs to perform and I love mixing it in with the new and the old. It's like a pallet cleanser with each performance - no matter what came before or after it, I'm back at my roots at that very first G chord. This is a song about being terrified to come out to my family and imagining the worst case scenario - a group of my closest people who'd always told me they prayed for me first and last thing of the day - stopping. And life falling apart because of it.
lyrics
It's exhausting becoming exhausted,
To have things go as they should,
But just as they should,
You've quit praying for me, babe
You've quit praying for me, babe
You've quit praying for me, babe
You've quit praying for me, babe.
It's disheartening losing your heart,
Day after day, the bus on its way.
It's tiring becoming so tired,
Walls caving in, no more ink in the pen.
You've quit praying for me, babe
You've quit praying for me, babe
You've quit praying for me, babe
You've quit praying for me, babe.
So what do I do to get back in your good graces?
I never knew that I could feel the difference,
The difference is under my skin -
Cause you've quit praying for me, babe
You've quit praying for me, babe
You've quit praying for me, babe
You've quit praying for me, babe.
You've quit praying for me, babe
You've quit praying for me, babe.
Don't quit praying for me, babe,
Don't quit praying for me, babe.

Remarkable debut from most brilliant woman in stratosphere - two songs that are easily the best of 2014, and two more that are among most challenging. This woman breathes life. Johnny Darlin
Shangri-La-Di-Da literally forces the sun to come out on a rainy day, and the rest of the songs are just as dynamic in their own differing ways, I'm obsessed with these guys. Johnny Darlin
"If You Wanna Be Happy" is a modern classic+miracle, and the rest of the material is just as sick, plus their live game is on-point and their shows are transcendent w/talent Johnny Darlin
